Lexus's first F car. The IS F took the compact IS sedan and gave it a hand-assembled 5.0-litre V8 — 311 kW and 505 Nm, the same 2UR-GSE family later used in the LC and RC F — through the world's first eight-speed automatic in a production car, with paddles and a manual mode that holds gears to the limiter. Wide front guards, bonnet bulge, Brembo brakes, 19-inch forged BBS wheels and the stacked quad exhausts, over a cabin with ten airbags and heated leather. Australia sold the IS F, so parts and servicing are local; Japan kept the good ones. A naturally aspirated V8 sports sedan is a thing nobody makes any more, and this is the one that started it for Lexus.
